How to add new Mail Providers on Opera 10

You need to find the webmailproviders.ini file on 

Windows <app installation directory/defaults />

Ubuntu 9.04 </usr/share/opera/defaults />

and add the following code with Opera closed.
 

[Gmail]
ID=1
URL=https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s&inbox
ICON=http://mail.google.com/favicon.ico

[Yahoo! Mail]
ID=2
URL=http://compose.mail.yahoo.com/?To=%s
ICON=http://mail.yahoo.com/favicon.ico

[Windows Live Hotmail]
ID=3
URL=http://mail.live.com/?rru=compose?to=%s
ICON=http://mail.live.com/favicon.ico

 

Then save the file and run Opera.

 

Now you can test with the following link flavio@sharkypr.net

On the Popup Windows select your desired mail provider and press OK. You can select to remember the option to make it permanent.

You are set, next time you hit a mailto link on Opera it will open on your desired mail provider.
